Now that Trump is president, the 1986 classic Kendall End of the World Reissue Deck from Santa Cruz is a fitting re-issue deck. This graphic was illustrated by Jim Phillips and depicts a Cold War “doomsday” scenario. In 1986, the USA and the USSR planned a mutual nuclear weapons disarmament, but an attempt to halve the nuclear arms stockpiles failed in the settlement. Not only does Phillips’ detonated globe symbolize the continuous fear of possible nuclear strikes, it also serves as an emblem for human turmoil and conflict.
The Kendall End of the World Reissue Deck from Santa Cruz doesn’t just give this new graphic new life, it also has the same shape as Jeff Kendall‘s original board. This deck also features the so-called “Cruz Missile II” concave, which appears flat. Last but certainly not least, this old school deck has a powerful 10″ x 29.7″ size. A relevant blast from the past!
